Erectile Dysfunction

What is Erectile Dysfunction or ED?

Erectile dysfunction (impotence) is inability to get an erection or problem keeping an erection firm enough for sex and/or a reduced sexual desire that usually affects your self confidence and causes stress, and relationship problems, frequently creating an issue for you or your partner.

How is E D diagnosed?

A medical history and a physical exam are all that’s needed before a doctor is ready to recommend a treatment. Common tests for possible underlying problems may include:

  • Blood tests to check for signs of heart disease, diabetes, low testosterone, hormone levels and other health problems.
  • Simple urine tests to look for signs of diabetes and other underlying health conditions

How do you Treat E D?

  • The P-Shot

This is often effective for treating erectile dysfunction. Hormonal changes that occur with age can decrease a man’s ability to have or sustain an erection. This type of treatment involves an injection of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) that causes the stem cells to become mobilized and growth factors to stimulate tissue regeneration. Tissue regeneration means more blood flow, more sensitivity, and better erections.

  • Hormone Replacement

Testosterone declines with age and ED can be a side effect of low testosterone. The penis has testosterone receptors and proper hormone levels are required to achieve increased in blood flow into the penis and firmer erections.

  • Prescription Pills

These are taken daily or up to 60 minutes before sexual intercourse. However, these medication don’t work for everyone and are a temporary fix, generally lasting a few hours to a full day. These results vary from person to person.
